NLCS International has signed an agreement with VLC Group to develop the NLCS Thailand campus in Phuket. The school will be located in Cherng Talay, one of the island’s fastest-growing residential areas.

Serving students from Early Years to Year 13, the NLCS Thailand campus will operate as a co-educational day and boarding school. Furthermore, it will cater to Thai families, expatriates and internationally mobile students seeking a British curriculum in southern Thailand. Naruj Chirayus, managing director of VLC Group said,

“For many families, Phuket already offers an exceptional quality of life, but there has been a clear gap in the market for a highly academic school with a direct connection to one of the UK’s leading educational institutions. As a Phuket-based family business, we see education as a natural part of the island’s next stage of growth. Our aim is to help make Phuket a more complete place to live, learn and build community.”

In addition, the NLCS Thailand campus will form part of the wider NLCS global network, which includes schools in Jeju, Dubai, Singapore and Hong Kong. This international structure is designed to maintain academic consistency while adapting to local contexts.

Growing Demand Shaping the NLCS Thailand Campus Development

The launch of the NLCS Thailand campus comes at a time when Thailand’s international education sector is expanding rapidly. Notably, growth is no longer limited to Bangkok, as demand spreads to regional destinations such as Phuket.

Moreover, Kasikorn Research Centre expects Thailand’s international school sector to grow by 9.7 per cent in 2025. In addition, international student numbers are projected to rise by 8.3 per cent, reflecting increasing demand for global curricula.

Daniel Lewis, managing director of NLCS International said,

“NLCS Phuket represents an important new chapter for our international family of schools. Our aim is to deliver an education that develops scholarship, in a joyful and exciting environment, that celebrates every individual for who they are, and that is rooted in a genuine love of learning.”

He added that the strength of NLCS lies in the authentic connection between the schools, the quality and depth of academic support and shared belief that happy, confident students are best placed to achieve exceptional outcomes.

As a result, the NLCS Thailand campus is positioned to play a key role in shaping Phuket’s growing reputation as an education destination alongside its established tourism and residential appeal.
