Tanglin Trust School has announced the appointment of Mark Leppard as its next CEO, with the role commencing in August 2027. Currently Headmaster at The British School Al Khubairat in Abu Dhabi, Mark Leppard will succeed current CEO Craig Considine as Tanglin continues to strengthen its position as a leading British international school in Asia.

A New Chapter After Twelve Years at BSAK

After more than a decade at The British School Al Khubairat, Mark reflected on the transition and the significance of the move.

Extensive Leadership Experience

Tanglin highlighted Mark’s extensive leadership experience across two leading British international schools in the Middle East. Before joining BSAK, Mark held a senior leadership role at Doha College in Doha. Both Doha College and The British School Al Khubairat have been recognised as ‘Outstanding’ in their UK BSO inspections. The school described Mark as a passionate advocate for holistic education, with a strong commitment to ensuring young people remain at the centre of every decision.

International Recognition and Awards

Mark’s contribution to international education has received significant recognition over recent years. He received the SchoolsCompared.com Best Principal Award in 2023 and the Pearson Lifetime Achievement Award in 2025, reflecting his long-standing impact on British international schooling.

In addition to his school leadership responsibilities, Mark currently serves as Chair of BSME and is the first international member of the UK HMC Board. These appointments highlight his influence within the global British education sector and his contribution to the development of international schooling standards.
