Kellett, the British International School in Hong Kong, is proudly celebrating fifty years as one of Hong Kong’s foremost international schools, recognised globally for excellence in education.

Founded by parents in 1976 seeking a British style education in Hong Kong, Kellett School has grown into a thriving international community offering a rich and dynamic learning experience to over 1500 students representing almost 50 nationalities. Five decades on, the school remains parent governed and not for profit, guided by values of respect, kindness and integrity, and committed to fostering a lifelong love of learning and confidence for life in all students.

A Legacy Rooted in Community Values

Principal and CEO Paul Tough reflected on the school’s journey and enduring ethos.

“Whilst the school has grown over the past fifty years, it remains remarkably true to the vision of our founding parents. To this day our parents, Board, staff and students, combine to form a unique supportive community that share the same values, the same vision for our students, our School and our place in Hong Kong.”

Chair of the Board of Governors, Nick Marsh, also highlighted the significance of the milestone and the school’s continued development.

“As we celebrate this remarkable milestone, we continue to build on the foundations laid by parents fifty years ago with the upcoming opening of a new Sixth Form Centre and ensuring many more families in Hong Kong will benefit from a Kellett education and being part of our unique community.”

Global Celebrations Mark the Milestone

Throughout the anniversary year, Kellett School will host celebrations across Hong Kong, London, New York and Sydney. These events will bring together current students, alumni, parents and staff, reinforcing the school’s strong global community and shared identity.
