Singapore Institute of Technology has announced the appointment of Heng Swee Keat as its inaugural chancellor, marking a significant development in the university’s governance and strategic direction. The appointment took effect on Monday and will run for a five-year term, concluding on May 31, 2031.
Role of the Inaugural Chancellor
Mr Heng will preside over key institutional ceremonies, including convocations, and represent the university at major internal and external engagements. He will also support SIT in strengthening partnerships and advancing strategic priorities, particularly in areas such as industry collaboration, philanthropic engagement and applied learning development.
